Connecting parents with their children's daily lives in a centralized and efficient way, improving communication and administrative management.
discovery
Investigación
Interviews were conducted with three parents and three daycare staff members, complemented by direct observation. This analysis identified three key problems:

Daily Information: 50% of mentions focused on the lack of personalized updates on children's daily activities. Parents do not have access to a clear summary, and staff struggle to provide systematic updates.

Communication: 30% highlighted the fragmentation of communication channels (physical agendas, WhatsApp, and oral conversations), which causes confusion and information loss.

Administrative Management: 20% pointed out the challenges of manual enrollment and record-keeping processes, which require time and are prone to errors.

Starting point
This project arises from the need to improve communication and administrative management in daycare centers, providing a digital solution that unifies currently separate processes.
Interpretation
Objective
Develop an application that centralizes communication and optimizes administrative management in daycare centers, providing clear and structured access to information for both parents and staff.
Usuarios
Two main archetypes were identified:

Parents: Seek clear information about their child's daily activities and a smooth, efficient administrative process.

Daycare staff: Need a tool that simplifies communication with families and automates administrative tasks.

Daycare staff

"Sometimes we request things through physical agendas, but they don’t check them, like when diapers run out and we need them to bring more the next day."

parents

"I’d like to have a general idea of what will be worked on during each season of the year."

Visual identity
To ensure an accessible and user-friendly experience, the app’s visual identity conveys warmth, simplicity, and trust. A warm color palette of orange and blue tones was chosen to evoke a sense of comfort and calm. The Karla typeface was selected for its readability and modern style.
Features
Based on insights from the interviews, the following key sections were designed:

Daily activity tracking: Allows parents to stay informed about their child's routine.

Annual calendar: Includes planning for activities and events.

Child profile: Stores a history of activities, ensuring quick and organized access to information.

Iteration & Experimentation
Results and future perspectives
Usability tests were conducted with parents and staff to validate the app’s functionality. Based on the feedback received, adjustments were made to navigation and core features, resulting in a more intuitive experience.

The next steps include continuous iteration based on user feedback and exploring new functionalities to further enhance the daycare experience.
